Acanthomintha ilicifolia ‘San Diego Thornmint’

 San Diego Thornmint is an endangered plant species; this annual plant occurs naturally in the southwestern parts of San Diego County and northern Baja California in openings within coastal sage scrub, chaparral and native grasslands, it grows in clayey soils and is usually found in moderate slopes.  Blooming period is March through June.
